The Applied Physics Department at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel (HUJI) is seeking highly-qualified candidates for an anticipated faculty position. All areas and ranks will be considered, with particular interest in entry-level and mid-career candidates in areas of research pertinent to Applied Physics, such as organic electronics, unconventional optics, nanodevice physics, quantum computing and quantum communications, etc.

Qualified candidates must possess a relevant, earned PhD, and have a demonstrable ability to teach effectively, develop funded research programs in their area of expertise, and contribute to the tradition of excellence in research that is characteristic of the Applied Physics Department. Self-motivated individuals who thrive on challenge and are eager to utilize their expertise to strengthen an ambitious program of departmental enhancement are desired.

The Applied Physics Department is part of HUJI’s School of Engineering, and currently consists of 9 faculty members, 80 graduate students (MSc and PhD level), and over 100 undergraduate students specializing in microelectronics and optoelctronics in their engineering BSc. The academic environment offers opportunities for collaboration with other university departments and schools, and the use of a state of the art Center of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. The position is open to all applicants, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, and gender. Teaching at HUJI requires that the candidate be fluent in Hebrew and English.
